I found this wormed (pulled) .58 calibre minie ball with high rings from a yard in Vicksburg Saturday.

When I cleaned out the cone base, I discovered this 5 pointed swage. This is a first for me. I have never found a swage base bullet before. Internet searches led me to conclude that this bullet would've been manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in Phildelphia, PA.

Nice find. I have found them down at Blakeley but not any other place. These were design being slightly smaller than the bore and would expand due to the swag in the base.
