Once again there seems to be no absolute consensus, but at least three reputable sources cite the Battle of Perryville as the high-water mark in the western theater.

Chickamauga.

Edit - Another player has presented a source confirming that Chickamauga has been referred to as the high water mark of the Confederacy in the West, so you get credit for a correct answer.

Welcome to the trivia game, bdtex. Hope you'll come back and play again.

What was the battle of Perryville?

Edit - Correct. Welcome to the trivia game, tdftdf. This isn't Jeopardy, so you don't have to phrase your responses in the form of a question, but you can do so if you wish.

Hope you'll come back and play again.
