Born in what is now Germany, I was an apothecary apprentice and, together with my cousin - a confectioner - I emigrated to the US in the 1840s.
We settled in New York City, where we opened a chemist shop. Our invention - a treatment against intestinal worms in children - was a success, especially when we combined our talents to make this medicine more palatable. The Civil War boosted our business by the great demand for disinfectants, antiseptics and painkillers. Foreign competition was discouraged by high tariffs. Our company still exists today.

Karl Christian Friedrich Pfizer (1824-1906) and Karl Erhart (1821-1891), founders of Pfizer, Inc.

1) You are Charles Pfizer (born Karl Christian Friedrich Pfizer) and Charles F. Erhart (born Karl Erhart)

2) Your company is Pfizer Inc. which will hopefully rid us from that miserable virus through the vaccine they produce together with the Getman company BionTech. Before Covid-19 Pfizer was mostly known for the 21st century "Blue Pill" - Viagra.
