William T Anderson aka Bloody Bill was a pro -Confederate guerrilla leader who first served with Quantrills Raiders and later led his own band of irregulars.

William T "Bloody Bill" Anderson (1840-1864) - once part of Quantrill's gang, he became the most ruthless pro-Southern guerilla operating in Missouri and Kansas. He was prominent in the Lawrenceville massacre and was the leader of the Centralia massacre. Jesse and Frank James both rode with Anderson.

William Cunningham (1748-1787) - changed sides to lead Loyalist militia in South Carolina... oh, wait, sorry, wrong war...
:D

William T(homas?) Anderson (1840-1864) Confederate guerrilla leader in Missouri.
IIRC he was always a bit of a shady character but didn't 'lose it' until after his sister died in custody.

Noted Missouri guerrilla.
See my signature.

The outlaw who taught Jesse James to kill

Edit - I will give credit for this answer. We were going for the name, but I could not find any sources indicating that Jesse James killed anyone before becoming part of Bloody Bill's guerrillas, so it appears that Anderson could be considered responsible for teaching James to kill.
