Henry B. Carrington hasn't seen combat during the Civil War. Yet he has connections to the Battle of Franklin. Name one.

I'm hoping it's this Henry B. Carrington. His 2nd wife, Frances Courtney Grummond Carrington (1845-1911) was born in Franklin TN. Her family were Union sympathizers and during the battle she nursed Union soldiers in her family home as well as in the aftermath at nearby hospitals. She was also a good friend to Carrington's 1st wife, Margaret Carrington. She wrote a descriptive report of the battle to the U.S. Sanitary Commission April 15th, 1865 that was widely published and is an interesting and worthy read.

Frances Courtney (1845-1911), his second wife, was born and lived in Franklin, Tennessee. During the battle, she nursed wounded Federal soldiers in the Courtney home.

I hope the Carrington's tie to the Battle of Franklin is his future wife, the former Fannie Courtney who was a civilian witness to the battle.

In March 1865, Fannie wrote the Battle of Franklin article which was published in the Boston Gazette and the Cincinnati Enquirer, among others.

I found these words fascinating for a young girl to write, "while terror stirred my soul. The other facts transpired in calmer moments, when my heart was filled with a holy sense of duty toward the suffering".

Silly me, I searched for 20 minutes thinking the question was asking the tie to the Battle of Atlanta, senior movement got me!

His second wife, Frances "Fannie" Courtney Carrington (14 January 1845-17 October 1911) was, at the time of the Battle of Franklin, a Union sympathizer living in Franklin, Tennessee. During the battle, she nursed wounded Federal soldiers in the Courtney home. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/95090688/frances-carrington
"Shortly after the war, she married Lt. Col. George Grummond, U.S. Army, and went with him to Fort Phil Kearny, where he was killed by Indians. Later, she married Colonel Henry B. Carrington." https://battleoffranklin.wordpress.com/category/franklin/
