Several pairs of brothers won the Medal of Honor during the Civil War but only one pair of brothers won it together during the same action.

Who were they?
In which unit did they serve?
Where did the action take place?

The two brothers were Allen and James G. Thompson.
They served in the 4th New York Heavy Artillery.

The action took place st White Oak Road, Peterburg, VA, says Wikipedia:

Captain Henry H. Crocker of 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry, and Private Ulric L. Crocker of 6th Michigan Cavalry and the action took place at the Battle of Cedar Creek.

Edit - Henry and Ulric Crocker did share the same last name and did win the Medal of Honor at the same battle. However, I am unable to find any source to verify that they were brothers.

1. Allen and James Thompson
2. K Company, 4th New York Heavy Artillery
3. Battle of Five Forks, Virginia, April 1, 1865

Edit - A source was presented in post # 27 supporting the contention that the action for which the brothers won the Medal of Honor was the Battle of Five Forks. Therefore, I will give credit for that answer.

Everyone who answered "Battle of Five Forks" may thank JOHN42768.

On this hunt I learned there were a load of MOH's given out for the Battle of Mobile Bay, five of which went to men with the last name of Brown, and 3 Norton's received the medal for action at Saylor's Creek - apparently none of them related
Challenging question - thanks Brenal!
