4 tintypes

New to the site. Have these 4 tintypes , I have little knowledge around tintypes bought these 20 years ago .
Can anybody help identify their uniforms - especially their headgear ?

Welcome to the forum @Bobjet456 these look like militia uniforms and certainly interesting headgear. You'll want to start a new thread with these in the period photo forum and I'm sure you'll get some replies on them.

Nice ones! I would say the fourth one for sure is a Union soldier and was taken during the Civil War. The painted camp backdrop is great. The other ones I am not as sure about, but yeah, seem to be militiamen.
