Hi everyone,

I'm doing some Ancestry.com work for my family and am currently working on my husband's maternal side. I came across a family member that may have been a part of the 32nd KY Infantry, Company E. His name was John R. Foley. Anyone know the best place for me to find some more information on the 32nd? Thanks so much!

On 9/9/1861 he mustered into "C" Co. 2nd KY Cavalry
He died a POW on 3/16/1865 at Andersonville, GA
............................................................................................
John V. Foley
Enlisted on 7/14/1863 at Owensboro, KY as a Private.
On 10/1/1863 he mustered into "A" Co. 35th KY Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 12/29/1864 at Louisville, KY

Thank you! I know that John survived the war and his pension card shows the 32nd KY...however any articles I've found online have said that the officers failed to submit their history and marches at the end of their service...lol.

Here he is, different spelling :

John Foly
Enlisted on 2/3/1863 at Camp Burnside, KY as a Private.
On 4/15/1863 he mustered into "E" Co. KY 32nd (Mounted) Infantry

Here's a brief history of the 32nd :

Thirty-second Infantry
KENTUCKY
(9 MONTHS)
Thirty-second Infantry. -- Lieut.-Col., Thomas Z. Morrow, Maj.,
John A. Morrison.

This regiment was raised by Col. Morrow in the summer of 1862.
The field and staff and nearly all the companies were mustered
into service at Camp Burnside, Ky. Co. B was mustered in at
Frankfort.

A portion of the regiment participated in the battle of
Perryville, being at that time in Terrell's brigade, Jackson's
division, and under the immediate charge of Gen. T. T.
Garrard. In the organization of the Department of the Ohio
under Gen. Burnside, June 30, 1863, the regiment, under Col.
Morrow, was in the 1st brigade, 2nd division, and July 31,
1863, the same.

At that time Gen. Burnside went on the East Tennessee
expedition, in which the regiment participated. In Nov. 1863,
it is reported by Gen. O. B. Willcox at Morristown, East
