Edwin Sumner was in charge of the Union II corps though John Sedwitch was the one who lead the division that Sumner sent into battle.

Tricky question: John Sedgwick was in charge of the part of the division of the Union II Corps that participated in that battle. Edwin Sumner was in charge of the II Corps overall, but he was not in the battle.

Edit - The question asked who was in charge of the II Corps, not who participated in the battle. You identified Sumner as being in charge of the II Corps, so I'll give credit for this answer.

A caution - please read the rule about multiple answers, as stated in the sticky thread on this forum. If the question asks for one answer and you present several alternatives, unless it's clear which one of those is your final answer to the question, I may have to mark the response wrong.
