Nathan Boone Lusk Jr. served as 2nd Lieutenant in Company G, 12th Regiment South Carolina Infantry, rank in-Sergeant, rank out- 2nd Lieutenant. He was captured at the Battle of Wilderness, Va. May 6, 1864 and paroled June 16, 1865 at Fort Delaware. Nathan B. Lusk was an officer of the "Immortal 600" when Confederate Officers were placed on Morris Island, SC as human sheilds by Union troops to prevent them fom being fired upon by Confederate Batteries in August, 1864. Later sent to Fort Pulaski, Union Prison, Ga. At the end of the war he moved his family to Marshall County Alabama where he lived out his life.

Very cool, yankee hoorah! Do you know if you are also related to Nathan Boone, who was a captain in Forrest's escort? He was related to Daniel Boone - they say all those with the Boone surname are related.
