I see where a few have posted that they have ancestors that were in 26th N.C.. I was wondering if anyone has photos of these ancestors in uniform?

Thanks

I do not have any photos. I have been looking and others in this forum have helped me look for a photo of the 1896 reunion that was in Richmond, VA that I knew my 2nd great grandfather was contemplating going to (I have a copy of that letter), but so far no luck finding that either.

If anyone has a photo, I also would be interested in seeing it as well.

Thanks.

PS: Will someone please tell me when I quit being a Cadet and pass to the next rank? I have been a member for almost 2 years. What is the rank based on? Thanks!!!

My avatar is a picture of Capt. N.G. Bradford Co.I (Caldwell Guard) 26th NC. N.G. was wounded on July 1,1863 First day at Gettysburg. Captured and held prisoner for the rest of the war. N.G. was one of the "Imortal 600". I have a few more copies of the 26th NC . If you are interested I will send them to you.

My great grandfather, William W. Bradford was in Co. F (Hibriten Guard). I live in Lenoir and as I look out from the deck I see Hibriten Mtn.

It is based on the amount of posts rather than time being part of the forum.

As GAVolunteer said, your rank is based on the number of posts you've made. I believe you are about to become a Private for reaching 25 posts. I haven't seen a key that lists the number of posts required to make each rank. I'll check with the forum founder to see if that info is posted somewhere.
