Another interesting question. According to the 1889 book "Regimental Losses in The American Civil War" there were 53 killed , and 213 wounded

In a letter written on September 1st Captain Ely stated "the total casualties in the 2d Regiment are killed 58, wounded 205"

In a February, 2010 post, our own M E Wolf posted this casualty list:

2d Wisconsin 2 51 8 205 1 31 298

So I am going with 58 killed and 205 wounded.

Edit - Having viewed the remainder of the answers on this thread, it is clear to me that there must be a lot of different sources giving a lot of different answers. I can't tell which one is right.

Following the precedent set with question 7, I am going to award 5 points to everyone who answered this question.
