Newport is one of my favorite areas to visit that would be the church that on September 12, 1953 saw the marriage of JFK to Jackie - St. Mary's Church - with then Lieutenant (future) General William S. Rosecrans engineered the construction during the years of 1848-1852.

William S. Rosecrans, then a Lieutenant ,was the engineer for conctruction of St. Mary's Church in Newport, RI, in the period 1848-52. In 1953 Senator John F Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier were married at St. Mary's.
