1st Texas Infantry Uniform info

Does anybody know what the 1st Texas Infantry wore for their uniform for 1863 or 1864? If not, do yall know places I could possibly find information pertaining to their uniform they wore during those years?

I'm not 100% sure of the 1st Texas specificly but being in the ANV by 63 they probably mostly wore Richmond Depot type II jackets with some homemade clothing mixed in. They were sent to Chickamauga in 63 with Longstreet and I know most of his Corps were supplied with Richmond Depot jackets made of blue/gray imported British clothe before they left. That's what most of the ANV were issued the last year of the war.

Longstreet's troops were entirely outfitting in jackets made from imported English Army Cloth and trowsers from imported light blue cloth before leaving to reinforce Bragg. This was the predominate cloth for uniforms in the ANV in 1864/65 and possibly earlier.

As stated in another thread about the 5th Texas, the 1st Texas would have been wearing the same uniforms as any other regiment in the ANV starting in 1862.

Color me surprised that there were so many forage caps? I guess I tend to think most secesh had slouch hats or kepis?
I've seen some of those photos before, but didn't know which outfit they were with.

I noticed that too. By this time I'm sure they were thinking about how to get a slouch or Hardee hat every time it rained.
