Its fun to uncover forgotten items during this challenging time.
This letter from Beckwith to his friend Mr Hamilton speaks to the Bull Run battle.
"The bullets came as thick and as close as I wanted them to although I did t get hit with any of them....we all came back alive but some of them wounded considerable...had a good speech from FW Kelogg (maybe once invented cereal)
He must have been from the Grand Rapids area of MI.
I think he gets killed a year after at...2nd Bull Run
