A rare look inside the Angle taken in 1886 by William Tipton. If not for the Codori farm in the background, it would be difficult to precisely locate the scene. The line of scrub and small trees mark the wall with the Angle just out of frame to the right. For further reference, the tree at left is near the present day location of the 69th Pa monument and the wooden stake (Bachelder's?) at left center is where the Armistead wounding marker is today.

Nice work! Is there a sign on the tree at left? Wooden stakes marking positions, etc. were a feature of the landscape in that era.
The sign on the tree may be noting that is where a Virginian officer named Mayo was placed by his comrades when he was shot at the wall. Note that this claim is contradicted by some who say Mayo was not in this position. I don't know.
