1860 Election Question

I wondered if you could give me some answers on something that perplexes me about the election. I was looking over the state-by-state results and I noticed that although Lincoln won Pennsylvania, second place went to Breckenridge of all people! I'm from Texas so of course I am pretty removed from the sentiments of the Pennsylvania people but I must admit that this baffled me. It seems that Pennsylvania would lean Douglas in terms of Democratic vote. Any insight into this rather obscure would be greatly appreciated.
