150th Fredericksburg Reenactment Video

This one gives you a good idea of the volume of fire the Confederates were putting out for a full 25 minutes. I am in the Color Guard of the 116th PA on the right hand side of the frame toward the end of the video as we made our doomed final assault on the wall.

It was pretty amazing, from where I was within seconds you couldn't see the wall because of the huge cloud of smoke

Here is a video of part of the 150th Fredericksburg reenactment this past weekend. It was a really neat event. It was nice to be on the original ground, even though it did bring some space challenges.

I'll post a video of the attack on the Sunken Road soon.
Very nicely done.

hey,josh,
thanks for posting.I stopped to introduce myself, but you seemed too busy.I recognized you from your avatar, and said here is someone from CWT,but i dont think you heard me.great video, though.thanks

I believe the official count was 1600 military and the rest civilian, myself included, hehe. What a great time.

I think that the whole atmosphere was terrific!soldiers and officers walkin around old town and having lunch in the packed cafes. As usual it was awesome seeing dressed reenactors doing walking tours of the battlefield.Just my whole trip was well worth over 40 hours round-trip on a train.Actually,it kind of added to the whole "reality" of the event, for me.Getting there on "the cars".

Yeah same here! People loved that we went to town on Friday night. We met and talked to people in a restaurant; asking questions, pictures, stuff like that that. I enjoyed it.

Anyway, with the logistical nightmare they had,I think it was a pretty nice event.Lots of "mainstream"stuff, but I closed my eyes to most of what I could of that.It was pretty cramped,at every stage, but hey,it was actually Fredericksburg and not a Hollywood set.I kept thimking of the people who might be doing a walking tour of the Sunken Road at the time,What a neat treat,to hear that gunfire just a little ways away.I was determined to have a good time, and so I did.
