Private Ira Fish, Co. A, of the 150th NY Infantry. The 150th was organized at Poughkeepsie, NY in Oct. 1862 and sent to the defense of Baltimore. They joined the Army of the Potomac during the Gettysburg Campaign as the second brigade of the First Division, of the 12th Corps. They later consolidated with the 11th Corps to form the new 20th Corps and were attached to the Army of the Cumberland. The 20th Corps served at the Battles of Resaca, New Hope Church, Peachtree Creek, Kennesaw Mountain, Bentonville, and Averysboro. In addition, they helped occupy Atlanta, were present for Sherman's March to the Sea, and the Campaign through the Carolinas. Ira Fish was mustered out a sergeant.
