Yes, Albert O Johnson - Company C. I've always wondered what kind of injury it was, especially since it was kind of awhile after the battle. He would've been 19... although he lived until 1902.

... say as a Prisoner of War, taken on the Gettysburg battlefield his right leg was amputated... sent to the US Provost Marshal in October, 1863.

Apparently subsequently exchanged, as he was back in Richmond, and hospitalized there, and given a furlough. The cause of his injury was recorded as a bullet wound, or "Vulnus sclopetarium"

Greetings!
Im trying to find any roster info from the Gettysburg Campaign for the 11th GA CO H. My 2nd GG fought with this unit, and I want to double check if he was actually present for the Campaign. His name was Henry Harrison Gilliam Preston. ( HHG Preston), he is listed in 1862 and surrendered at appromattox. I have a letter from the wilderness campaign from him, so I cannot imagine he wasnt at Gettysburg. Any information from this regiment would be great. Or any info of what kind of Richmond depot uniforms he would of been issued at he time, ect..

Anything would help, I really appreciate it ..

Wow this is so interesting!!! How do you all find this kind of information. Unfortunately, his captain. My grandfather was lucky for not being wounded. Really cool to see who was injured in his company. Thank you for this my friend

Oh there it is, looks like its in good condition still. Nice headstone. Next time im in Atlanta for a layover im taking a detour. Have to visit my family there.. My mom met his daughter before she died in the 1950s. That war is really not that long ago

This is his brother's grave stone.

He may have perished from wounds received from the battle of Cedar mountain on Aug 9.

He was killed at rappahan station i believe in 62. I probally didnt spell that right.
