Stumped on this one, I did come across a story of some buried soldiers discovered not long ago in Virginia of the 1st Massachusetts that were killed in the Bull Run campaign. One of them was wearing baseball shoes which was unusual. They couldn't positively ID them but they think they knew who they were. On my phone so can't copy the link right now but it was very interesting.
 
James Silvey, a soldier in the First Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry killed in the Battle of Blackburn's Ford July 18, 1861. His remains were identified largely because he died wearing baseball shoes.
