She owned the farmhouse

Edit - She did own a house, but we were looking specifically for the fact that it was Lee's headquarters.

It was on July 1, 1863 that General Robert E. Lee established his personal headquarters in this old stone house. An ideal location, it was at the center and rear of his battle lines and it was on the same road that many more of his troops were quickly approaching.

At the time of the battle, the house was the dwelling place of Mrs. Mary Thompson,
 
General Lee made Mrs. Thompson's house his own personal headquarters, mostly because the house was located at a good spot for Confederate troops to stop and refresh. Also the house had thick walls that made good cover for incoming Union fire. Mrs.
