Interesting that the Sainted Robert E. Lee also engaged in mining at Petersburg, though they weren't as skilled as the Federals.

Whatever you term as "neutral", is in fact biased against the Confederacy. What I say as neutral, you quickly condemn it.
Chambersburg was burned a year later by John McCausland as a retaliation for what southern civilians were suffering in Federal hands.
Sherman burnt everything down. What he left behind him was the earth, scorched. Half-naked civilians, stripped of all they had before Sherman's "visit" were crouching in the now barren land.
Lee never ordered that, neither the CSA War Department. On their orders the 40 captives were released. They were captured by companies of guerillas, not regular troops of the Army of Northern Virginia.
The title 'Dead Confederates" shows not only bias, but hatred.
General Lee's men were digging listening tunnels, to see what was happening under them.

Cash, you may want to take a look at this one. It did happen concerning the listening holes. There were no explosives in them.

Now you've ticked me off. That blog is by our friend Andy Hall, who recently wrote "Blockade Running on the Confederate Coast" and doesn't have a biased bone in his funny body. He has been "Member of the Month" here, which is a good indication of the esteem hosts and moderators have for him. Now, I noticed you haven't responded to one of my posts, but I highly suggest you should do so immediately and do whatever type of apologizing you can think of, because you have mischaracterized a witty, wonderful and kind man. And this is the least I'll say about it.

Gross exaggeration aside, since all that was done after Chambersburg then if was perfectly OK because it was done in retalliation for what Northern civilians suffered. Right?
