Had a scary experiance today..

You've got to be careful Lt. Jpf! From the looks of the thread Ole closed down, us Forrest suppoprter are outnumbered but not outgunned. Seriously, I'm glad you are OK with only cuts and bruises.
Yea,us Forresters allways cathch a hard time but ohwell...were taking a stand for dixie!

Glad you okay. Be sure to take care of the cuts as could get infected. Know of folks who had cuts that they let go and got very sick.
ive been cleaning my cuts with peroxide and neosporin. Ive got a real nasy spot on my right knee, where when i slipped i slid down the bank on it. Took the hyde right off. Its very sore this morning

I'm glad you are ok. Centuries ago I used to teach water safety courses for the Red Cross. Absolutely never swim against the current, you will never win. Always swim with the current, downstream and gradually work your way to shore. Even then, rocks and semi-submerged stuff can batter you to death. You are very lucky.
I certainly had an angel with me yesterday..

Some rivers are even nastier, which is why nobody swims in this one. People can go wading out in a quiet, still fishing hole and just disappear, never to surface again until somewhere down the coast!

Donna is sure right about tending cuts got in rivers or ponds. There are some ugly cooties who make bad, bad trouble!
nobody swims in this one because of the currents and the whirlpools. and thats what scared me,the current started pulling me in and i just knew it was over for me

glad you made it ok...never tried that bow fishing stuff..bet it's fun. This makes my 4 yr anniversary of a near drowning by canoe accident. Yes it was a stupid idea anyway, it was high water but a great challenge...
Bowfishing is a hoot!! Except when you fall in the river with all the gar,carp,catfish...ohh and the no shoulders! (SNAKES)

You have my interest up...been wanting to bow hunt for deer..I may need to add your thing to my bucket list as well. I hate snakes more than anything. Caught a water mocassin one time...that was not fun...

thats what has over run the area i was in! Water mocassins! Every time i go down there to fish i bring a 22. magnam with me for snake protection. Bow hunting for deer is great.I shot a nice 6 pint last season with my Hoyt bow, butive traded it in and got a Mathews solo cam. Its a very nice bow.

Yeah..I figure if I can shoot a deer with a muzzleloader surely I can with a bow. So am saving up for one. Love to ice fish, and fly fish..that bow fishing sounds like fun. Snakes are bad here....seems I'd be used to them but they are what I hate the most.

Glad you survived so we can continue to cross rhetorical swords over "The Late Unpleasantness." Be careful out thar!

Thanks Bob! I will definantly be more carefull next time i go bowfishin. Ill be sure to wear tinnishoes

The devil made flip-flops - and that's just what you do when you wear them! :help:Get a good pair of real moccasins. We dip net fish off the slimy rocks over IshiPishi Falls and nary a one of us has slipped off yet!

I love muzzleloading. ive never been ice fishing but im sure its a blast. I do enjoy fly fishing, how ever i dont get the chance to go very often. Snakes are horrible here as well. Were over ran by copperheads and cotton mouths. We have alot of rattlers too but more cotton mouths and copperheads than anything else. What kind of snakes do yall have?

We have a bunch of rattlers and cotton mouths...haven't seen a copperhead in a while , but I know they are out there. Turkey population has been going down in my area for some time...have no idea why that came to mind as they have nothing to do with snakes. But, anyway..my dad saw several last weekend he was all excited about that . Although I have been turkery hunting with my dad and grandfather , I have never turkey hunted on my own. Did make an attempt at duck hunting the winter..didn't do well..but am addicted now..must do more exploring on that issue for sure. I would rather hunt/fish or camp than shop for sure. Regardless the accidents we outdoors folks get into, it's still safer than being in a city for sure.
