Well finished! In the end I chose to use BLO to wipe the stock down (flooded the surface waited 15 minutes and wiped off excess), used two coats. She was really dry and thirsty! Took just over 72 hours to cure. Still left the dirt and dents and character.....just protected now. After I finished up the metal, I wiped down with wonderlube 1000 (I've had really positive experience with it in the past), might replace with wax in the future I don't know. The metal definitely retained its patina, still has all the stains, pits, and character.....just No rust. Hoping it's safe for the next 100years now....what do you think? How'd I do
