Take the Wm. Quantrill Quiz!!!!

The average score on this quiz is 5/10.

I scored 9/10
( I thought one of the questions was very poorly written and missed their "correct" answer)

Just for the record, which one was it? I'm guessing this one (which I also got right by default):

I got 7/10. I didn't think the question on how many people he killed was clear (even though I got it right). It could have meant the raid, or overall.

I got 9/10 but find the one I missed debatable

If he was referred by his contemporary superiors as colonel in dispatches........I'd say he was a colonel..........
Archie, did they really refer to him as a colonel, or did he request the commission and then refer to himself as a colonel? What did Richmond say? I honestly can't answer my own questions, but I know that he was recognized as a captain.

I'd have to go back and look it up, but pretty sure there were confederate dispatches by his superiors discussing him during the winter of 63/64 and they were referring to him as Col Quantrill, so wouldn't be just him making the claim, but that it was apparently recognized by his superiors.

To me Price is more collaborating evidence, But in the T-M Kirby Smith would/should have been the ultimate arbitrator on rank..........
