I can't remember the last time I had chicken cordon bleu, but I do enjoy it.

The phrase "Cordon Bleu" means "Blue Ribbon" when referring to the dish. Another use of the phrase "Cordon Bleu" comes from a distinguished order of sixteenth-century French knights, who apparently wore blue sashes and were therefore popularly referred to as the Cordon-bleus.

That's what I do as well! There's no way I could manage to make one from scratch. Certain things are just too tricky to create from raw ingredients. It's like attempting to make a tiramisu from scratch or a Napoleon!

I tried tiramisu once. I forget the alcohol that goes into it ~ I think it's rum ~ but I put WAY too much in. You could smell the dessert in the other room.

I kinda want to make it again.

All the supermarkets sell the frozen one for 99 cents down here and it really makes for a quick inexpensive meal.we like to serve ours just like the Russian Tea Room on W57th street in the big Apple does over rice.
