Member Review The Last Samurai (2003)

I felt like his alcoholism and PTSD made his attraction to Bushido believable. He'd witnessed Indian massacres etc. so much here that he used an ancient honor code as a cure.
Asians were treated horribly here during this period. Half of the women were prostitutes. Men were forced to be servants or do things whites didn't want to do. Hung when they got in the way. Then immigration was banned by the Republicans. So racial and culture differences were real.

How many Yankees migrated to Japan during this period? Guess all the alcoholics and the ones who were PTSD which hadn't been discovered yet? It is a Hollywood movie. Just hilarious how some accept the concept. Want to be believer's. Oh yeah, this could happen.

Wannabe justified the movie as a way to push Hollywood to except Asians as more main stream. While they were continually cast as buck teeth side kicks etc. This is the early 2000s. Might deduce what attitudes were in mid 19C.
