In the book Tarnished Eagles by controversial historian Thomas P. Lowry, the author mentions that he and his wife made a site known as "The Index Project, Inc." which transcribed and documented all Union courts-martial during the war. As the book was started in 1994, I can only assume it's done, but "theindexproject.com" domain is for sale.

Does anyone know if an archived version of that site exists?

That's the book! The author's note mentions an archive site specifically for all Civil War courts-martial, and while upon initial consideration the Anna's Archive site appears to include some of that information, I'll have to keep looking to further uncover the scope of its contents.

I just ordered a "very good" used copy on Amazon for $7. 00. 50 courts martial of Union Colonels and Lieut. Colonels., for causes such as: drunkenness, insulting superiors, hiding during battles, and chloroform addiction. Interesting reading worth $7.
Includes a statistical study of 22,000 courts martial.
