Stonewall Jackson HQ

I was fortunate enough to be near Winchester, Virginia last weekend for a wedding. During Saturday my wife, son and myself went and toured Stonewall Jackson's Civil War headquarters. As a Civil War enthusiast this was a marvelous tour. The guide gave us the most in depth information about not only General Jackson, but about the house with original items belongings to Jackson and Mrs.Jackson. Original Confederate battle flags are on display, Jackson's Bible and battle sword. The collection of items in the house is definitely worth the visit.
A interesting side note the original house belonged to a family named Moore who was the great grandfather of known actress Mary Tyler Moore.

Welcome to CivilWarTalk and I agree. A group of us visited there and got the tour during our annual CivilWarTalk Muster in 2023. I'm personally not particularly knowledgeable about Gen. Jackson but it didn't matter. Great place to visit.
