ENDED Small 24th New York collection

Afternoon,

I would like to sell this small collection for the 24th NYVI. The 24th was a 2 year regiment raised in April of 1861. It was a member of the First or Eastern Iron Brigade. Saw heavy action in 1862 and mustered out of service in May of 1863. The collection includes:

Cap pouch of Pvt Eugene Nutting. I purchased this from The Union Drummer Boy , and comes with all documentation. According to his obituary, Nutting fought at 2nd Manassas, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and the Mud March. He survived the war and lives his life out in NY.

2 letters from from Frank Teear to his wife. These letters do not mention any big battles, but everyday occurances in camp in Virginia. This is a man that misses his wife and daughter dearly. He uses every single space front and back on every piece of paper. Comes with original covers as well. Frank is KIA in the assault at 2nd Manassas as well.

Lastly, 2 reunion ribbons of the 24th NY.

This is a small collection as they go. The 24th did a lot of hard fighting in 1862. Frank Teear and Eugene Nutting both served in Company K, and would have known each other well. Items such as these don't only show the military, but the personal, and tragic stories that every regiment, North and South has. Would like to keep them all together. Asking $700. I did the same thing, forgot about it for 13 years and then my wife told me about the civil war groups. All the dealers are there too, thousands of sellers and buyers. I moderate a few with union drummer boy and battleground antiques. Horsesoldiers on there too!

I moderate these three in red and contribute to the others as well. She has to agree to the rules by clicking the titles and reading through. Sell anything but guns. Many of us here are probably there too plus the dealers hang around the groups as well
