I recently acquired a Schenkl shell that was from a trusted dealer. He knows it came out of/recovered from Gettysburg. I wanted to do some research on who could have painted on "cavalry fight" or the inventory stamp of "8". I looked online and it looks like a Danner museum piece. I know Danner and a few other original Gettysburg museums/relic shops would paint on where it was recovered. I've seen other examples online and the lettering looks exactly the same as others proven to be Danner. I figured someone here would be able to tell me one way or another. I got it for a fair price so I'm not worried if it's not a Danner. Just hoping I can trace some history to it.
