Sorry to miss this chat tonight -- I am now on the night shift at work. Earlier this year I viewed the video and then read the short book about Futch that Prof. Carmichael mentions in his talk.

Futch was an enlisted man in the 3rd NC Infantry CSA, the same regiment as my avatar and relative Lt. George W. Ward.

I'd love to get involved in an on-line discussion of the Blair book, if anybody is interested.
