For whatever reason, lately anytime a Cross Keys/Port Republic post gets posted, & I post these same maps, someone comes on here and shouts about it. Last time, someone demeaned my grandfather's maps for not being detailed enough.
Sure thing, while being fired upon, a man trying to preserve his hide will be standing there sketching in the exact look of an Oak leaf on a tree 100 yards away. You bet

I'm told the original home was across Lewiston Road. I have never researched the records to determine how old the house showing is. Says this old man.

Well now I'm curious. You've said old man 2x. Just how old we talkin'? I think there should be a CWT annual award for Best Geezer and Best Geezette. Maybe goes with a lifetime supply of Depends, spent Minie balls mysteriously left around ones property, and a fifth of whiskey monthly. . (I wouldn't dare joke this way were I not quasi-old myself)
