Co.A Steele's Command CSA. Leckley

My ancestor served in Steele's Command Co. A CSA, Cavalry, and his muster roll in 1864 states his last name only...Leckley.... in remarks section it says "with ? Jones".....He originally served in Co.A Waul's Texas Legion, Cavalry, during the Vicksburg Campaign...so does "with ? Jones" mean he had been part of Newton Knight's Free State of Jones?

Steele's command of Texas Cavalry was formed in 1864 from veterans of the cavalry battalion of Waul's Texas Legion.
