Brasier or folding iron rack?

Son and I would like to be able to cook a meal or two when we are not with the battery. Mostly breakfast and dinner..breakfast would be tea/coffee pot..skillet for breakfast..then something hot at meal time in the evening..

Thoughts?? Braiser would be one item at a time, but a whole lot less prep..iron rack would allow for everything to be done at once, but would require more supplies…not that I would not enjoy a fire at night…

I can only contribute camping experience, so not period correct info. We find using a rack is more flexible - we can do multiple items while cooking and can heat water for clean up while we cook.
