Also notice the shadow of the "gutter" on the two supports next to each window. Also notice the shadow of the "gutter" onto the clapboards. Each suggest that the "gutter" is 6-8" wide. Also with the "gutters" downward slope, it implies that this was to channel water, either off the roof or "gray" water that was dumped from that 2nd story window. I'm also wondering if the small attached shed around the corner to the right is a two seat outhouse.
