It's a mystery to me. :unsure:

There were a lot of people born in 1812 and a lot of them were from Charles Town. There were a lot of guys recruited in Massachusetts who entered the Army in 1863. And my searches for a magazine titled simply Mystery have come up empty.

Edit - Now that I see the official answer, I note that all of the sources presented describe Mystery as a newspaper, which makes it easier to understand why my searches for a magazine with that title came up empty.

Kudos to all the players who got the correct answer.
