Lt Waldrey {4th Michigan{?}

It is my opinion, (emphasis on opinion), that the soldier on the left was not a member of the Fourth Michigan Infantry, as they were never known to have worn Hardee hats during the war. He is probably a soldier from another Michigan regiment visiting his friend in the camp of the Fourth as I believe that the soldier on the right is very likely a member of the regiment. However, there is no reference of a "Lt. C Walrey" in the roster of Company D, or any other company of the regiment. This is not the first time that an image of men of the Fourth Michigan Infantry were misidentified in Brady's images.
