I am currently doing family research on those who served in Pennsylvania regiments. For some time I have sought to learn more about Noah Gohn, and any potential family connection to David Gohn, both having served in the 142nd Pennsylvania. Here's what I know;
Noah Gohn enlisted 22 August, 1862, and died at the Corps Hospital 14 February 1863 of disease. He should not be confused with the Noah Gohn who died 14 February 1924, and who served in Co. E., 171st Pennsylvania.
David Gohn is much better documented. He enlisted one day later then Noah (23 August 1862), was wounded 6 February 1865, and died at home of those wounds 6 January 1866. He has a Find-A-Grave memorial, which does not mention Noah. David also isn't listed on the 142nd tablet on the Pennsylvania State Monument at Gettysburg, and it would be interesting to find out why. He was discharged 13 May 1865, so clearly some time in the hospital resulting from his wounding.

Where was David during Gettysburg, and was he related to Noah, however distantly. I might add parenthetically that both David and Noah are listed on the Somerset County Soldiers Monument. However, the recent book on same does not elaborate on any family connection.
Anyone have thoughts? Information? Regardless, thanks for taking a look at my post. Somewhere someone knows all about our lost Noah.
