Bacon belonged to the 6th Michigan Infantry (XIX Army Corps) and couldn't stay out of trouble. He was placed under arrest several times. Once for refusal to move regiment out of the barracks to make way for another unit that had tents. His regiment didn't have tents so he refused and was arrested.

Anyway, at the end of the book, it says End of Part First. Does anyone know if Bacon ever started or finished a second part and if so, where is it?
