I filled some jars with minie balls and paired with some Union and Confederate bullets.
The bullets are simply pressed into the foam backing by closing the glass top. No adhesives are used. That way I can take the bullets out or rearrange them anytime I want to make a change to the display.
The Union bullets I displayed are the standard ammunition for the Federal infantryman - the .58 caliber minie ball for the Springfield rifle.
The Confederate billets are those commonly used by the Southern troops - Belgianettes, 2-ring Gardner's, French Dragoons, British Towers, and some crossovers like Enfields and smoothbores.

Nice Display. Collecting bullets is a whole catagory in its self as there were over 400 different types of ammo used during the CW and some a VERY expensive.
