Hopefully, this is something I can build off of.
I filled some jars with minie balls and paired with some Union and Confederate bullets.
 
How...do you know the difference between Confed/Union? (I love the concept!)

The Union bullets I displayed are the standard ammunition for the Federal infantryman - the .58 caliber minie ball for the Springfield rifle.

The Confederate billets are those commonly used by the Southern troops - Belgianettes, 2-ring Gardner's, French Dragoons, British Towers, and some crossovers like Enfields and smoothbores.
