got this book the other day from the library.it is written by George Contant who lives in my home time where I live.have been told it is a greeat book as he is quite the authority on local Civil War regiments.librarian told me he was here a month ago and did a book signing and talk and I missed it.guess I should read the library newsletter more often.lol.will let you know how it is when I finish reading it.

well I finished reading and can truly say it is one great book.I learned alot about some of the things that actually went on during the war based on the soldiers experiences and what they actually wrote home.unbelievable how many died at some of the battles and how they just charged right into lines of gun fire in an attempt to win.bravery at its finest for sure.found out the author is actually from my home town here in sodus,ny.on another note have a new website up for the 97th New York Infantry.it is at: 97thnyinfantry.com. thanks
