I stopped by Camp Moore in Louisiana the other day to see what kind of reading material I could pick up. They usually have some lesser known books that I find interesting.

I picked up Diary In Gray; Letters and Journals of a Confederate Soldier. I am about half way through it and its been a very interesting book so far. Most of the book is obviously first person accounts Jared Young Sanders II who was with the 26th Louisiana. It does set up some of his letters and journal entries with some background to what he is writing about so the reader is not completely lost if he/she does not know the details of what was going on. Its nice to read his own words on the attempts by the Yankees to take Vicksburg on several occations. His thoughts on day to day life and such.
