Has anyone seen the GI Joe size Civil War figure of a Zouave?
How accurate is the uniform and weapons?
They were produced by Soldiers of the World in the 1980s
Thanks

Welcome. Like most action figures, detail is usually missing. I am no uniform expert, but here’s what I can tell you with some degree of accuracy:
Rifle - similar to the ones used by Zouaves.
Bayonet- not at all correct
Hat- can’t tell from the photo but looks incorrect
Trousers- looks correct
Jacket - looks correct but missing buttons. Union Zouaves has round buttons with no markings
Belt and buckle- ?
You might want to try reposting this under the Uniform forum. There are folks there more knowledge than I am.
Good luck

As already stated some action figures lack detail and accuracy. I believe this figure is loosely based on the uniform worn by the 5th New York Infantry 'Duryea Zouaves'. Google the 5th NY and you can then decide how historically accurate it is.

The detail and accuracy are issues . The headgear is completely wrong . It looks like a chef's hat with a chinstrap. Wrong style and color.
