Wyse fork effort

I was down that piece of road last month. Construction of the new Interstate 42 is proceeding rapidly, but there is still a lot to do. I think 2032 is the target date for final completion.

My friend Wade Sokolosky, who occasionally posts here as Carolinas Campaign, has been leading this fight. I believe that they're making progress, but these fights take time, money, and resources.

Wade co-authored a very good book on the battle at Wyse Fork: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1611216796/?tag=civilwartalkc-20

I have his book! I used it extensively for studying the path/organization of Cruft's/Meagher's provisional division from Nashville to the Carolinas.

I am pleased that the NC DOT has decided to reroute the new Interstate 42 away from the battlefield by a couple of miles according to the information I received at my SCV camp's last meeting. Our camp will be purchasing a couple of historical markers for the battlefield with the narration written by Wade Sokolosky. At least sixty acres have already been purchased from the battlefield and negotiations are in progress that would add around one hundred more to this total.
