1) Uberti Walker with a brown finish. The bore is excellen, the nipples are very good condition. Mechanically excellent. I ran maybe 40 shots through it when I first got it. Comes with holster and wrench. $300 Shipped.
2)$350 Shipped French Mle1842 Rifle. This is interesting and in fair condition. It appears the rifle was shortened at some point to same length as the Chasseure carbines. I suspect this was arsenal conversion for the National Guard maybe. Here the issues with the gun that need to be addressed to make it a shooter.
The nipple is well chewed up and rusted in place. needs to be extracted/replaced. The trigger is interestingly retained by a nail in the stock, like the older Mle1822 muskets (but with a proper pin vs nail). Other 1842's I have come across have the trigger retained by screw to the trigger guard assembly. I am including this type with the Rifle if some one was to make that work. The lock cocks at half and full cock, strong spring. Just wonky to use with the trigger as it is now.
Bore is dark with some pitting and worn rifling. The wear is most prominent at the muzzle, with rifling almost gone 1" down the muzzle. The long range rear sight base is original but the sight ladder is a replacement, not sure what gun it is from. Due to the thickness of the replacement sight ladder, it wont close down all the way.
The metal has been cleaned. Pitting is most prominent around the bolster and tang. Stock is good with general wear with some wood loss around the buttplate. The boxwood plug is sanded down with only markings on buttstock a number 11 and a small anchor.
Ramrod is threaded
Overall fair gun that be made a shooter again.
