Would we have had a Civil War if slavery had been abolished from the start?

I know our founding fathers debated for weeks on the issue of slavery but gave in to the Southern power brokers just to get our constitution ratified. What if they had found a way to suppress black people without calling it slavery? Like the coal mines before unions. Would the civil war have never been fought or would it have simply postponed it? I will be in the wilderness canoe/camping for a while but will check in when I return. ONWARD! I hear banjo music! 😁
