I thought I would share a couple of pictures of a plantation house in Lagrange, TN about 3 miles from my hometown of Grand Junction. It was used by Sherman as his headquarters when Grant's army was camped there.

Robweb1,

Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful house. Not all that different from the "Woodlawn" Plantation house in Virginia, which is not far from Mt. Vernon -- Washington's house.

I believe it's owned by a coporation now. I don't know if anyone is living there. May be a bed and breakfast.
Looks like a place that would serve some fine biscuits and gravy... and grits.

Beautiful old house, kinda wish i had a place like that....
The trouble with older homes of historic value is that you have a lot more upkeep and thus need to have a very good cash flow. The owner's responsibility is to future generations so that they may enjoy it too.

It is indeed a beautiful home though.
