I apologize if he has been discussed before in great detail. I just been reading about this man and am stunned he was not promoted sooner to Brigadier General. He has shown time and time again to be an able regiment commander and as well as a brigade commander when Law was out of action. I have read that Law did not make a good brigade commander when he, I believe on two occasions filled in for Hood as a Division commander. Maybe it was discussed before and no disrespect to Law but would've Perry made a better brigade commander? I know the Alabamians have a track record as one of the top confederate fighting men around. Just like to hear your guys opinions..

Also I know he took over Law's Brigade towards the end of the war and handled himself well as its commander. I just bought Law's Alabama Brigade by Laine and can't wait to read it.
